Prime Minister's Secretariat(1963~2008)
1963.12.16The Secretariat of the Chief Cabinet Minster is abolished and the Office of the Prime Minister reestablished under Cabinet Decree, article 1681.
1998.2.28The Senior Press Secretary for the Prime Minister transferred the duties to the Office of Public information, while the Office of the Prime Minister took over the duties in the Ministry of the Political Affairs(1st) after the Ministry was abolished under the Amendment to the Law on Government Organization, article 5929 and Presidential order, article 15695.
1999.5.28The Office of the Prime Minister has three senior secretaries with 80 staff members, and they are Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs, and Senior Press Secretary (Regulations on the Office of the Prime Minister, article 1).
The Administrative Coordination Office(1973~1998)
1973.1.30The Administrative Coordination Office was established composed of five Administrative Coordinators.
1981.11.2The 5th Administrative Coordinator was abolished. The number of staff members increased due to a personnel shift following the abolishment of the Office of Planning and Coordination.
1983.3.2With the abolishment of the 4th Administrative Coordinator, the duties related to youth services and civic consciousness were eliminated. The Office took additional charge of overall support for the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Summer Olympics.
1989.1.30The 4th and 5th Administrative Coordinators were reestablished and charged with the duty related to audit and inspection and democratic ideology respectively.
1994.12.30The number of staff members increased with the Office taking over the function of inspection and analysis from the Economic Planning Board. The status of the chief Vice-Minister was conferred on the Minister of Administrative Coordination, presiding over the vice-ministerial conference.
The Office for Government Policy Coordination(1998~2008)
1998.2.28The name of the Office was changed to the Office for Government Policy Coordination and the status of the Office was elevated from the level of the Vice-Minister to Minister, consisting of five Assistant Ministers. The Prime Minister's function of policy coordination, evaluation, and regulatory reform was reinforced. The Assistant Minister for Regulatory Reform was inaugurated.
2003.6.27To reinforce the Prime Minister's function of policy coordination, the status of two Assistant Ministers, the Assistant Minister for public policy coordination and the Assistant Minister for social and cultural policy coordination, was elevated from the level of Assistant Minister to Vice-Minister.
